*Acclaimed director Martin Scorsese returns with his first film in four years and once again he’s teaming up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro for “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
As Entertainment Weekly reports, the film is adapted from David Grann’s book of the same name about the murders of wealthy Osage people in 1920s Oklahoma.
Per Collider, the official plot synopsis via Apple reads: “Based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.”

In the film, DiCaprio stars as Burkhart (a suspect in the murders,) and his voice narrates the teaser: “There are many, so many, hungry wolves. Can you find the wolves in this picture?” he asks.
In April, Scorsese and the cast spoke about bringing the book to life at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
“I couldn’t have made this picture without collaborators who are remarkable and were totally dedicated to bringing this story to life on an epic scale,” Scorsese said at the time, per EW. “So, I needed actors who are really brave enough to play very complicated central characters, extremely complicated, and I turned to a remarkable young actress named Lily Gladstone.” To fill out the rest of the cast, he added, he also recruited DiCaprio and De Niro — “a few guys I’ve worked with on a few other occasions,” he joked.
The film marks the first time De Niro and Dicaprio have worked together since the 1993 drama “This Boy’s Life.”
“Killers of the Flower Moon” opens in theaters nationwide on Oct. 20 before streaming worldwide on Apple TV+.
