*Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson on Sunday (05-14-23), blasted the Daniel Penny Defense Fund that has raised more than 1 million dollars and climbing for his defense.

The fund sends the wrong message that vigilantism and taking the law into your hands is acceptable and applauded.

Hutchinson launched a counter-campaign urging Los Angeles residents and donors to give to the true victim, Jordan Neely‘s GoFundMe.

“Neely, not Penny, is the victim and a needy victim, says Hutchinson, “This is why I launched the call for Los Angeles residents and donors to contribute to the Neely Fund.”

He added: This will send the right and strong message that victims of vigilantism will be supported financially and morally.”

Hutchinson’s organization, The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable kicked off the call with a substantial donation to the Neely Fund (https://www.gofundme.com/f/jordan-neely-we-love-you).
