*Cardi B is playing zero games when it comes to collecting her money from blogger Tasha K, who owes the rapper a grand total of $4.25 million.
Cardi sued Tasha for allegations made on her YouTube channel, including that Cardi had worked as an escort, had herpes, cheated on her husband Offset (formerly of Migos) and used hard drugs, among other slanderous claims.
Cardi denied the allegations and claimed in court that her reputation had been harmed. The rapper testified that the ordeal had caused her extreme emotional distress, which led to her marriage with Offset suffering. “Only an evil person could do that s***,” Cardi said about Tasha on the stand.
Last year, a court awarded Cardi $1 million in general damages, $250,000 for medical expenses, $1.5 million in punitive damages and another $1.3 million for her attorney fees. Soon after the verdict, the hunt was on for Cardi to get her money from Tasha.
The artist began sending subpoenas to track down Tasha’s assets. First, she served JP Morgan Chase, where Tasha has a bank account. The bank said Tasha had only$1,083.02 in her account.
Cardi then served YouTube’s parent company Google to see if Tasha had any advertisement money coming her way. Google informed Cardi that it owed Tasha $9,304.81, and Cardi was awarded that cash as well.
According to newly filed court documents, obtained by RadarOnline.com, the Google rep has informed Cardi that an additional $640 is owed to Tasha, and Cardi will be able to seize that amount as well.
Tasha K had initially avoided paying the rapper and then filed an appeal. But according to Billboard, that judge upheld the $4 million defamation verdict.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit rejected the appeal after the blogger claimed the verdict resulted from a “lopsided presentation of evidence to the jury.”
