*Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are back for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” sequel,” the trailer for which can be watched below.
Per the official synopsis: “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
Villeneuve said “Dune: Part Two” will serve up more action than his first installment.
“Part One is more of a contemplative movie. Part Two is an action-packed, epic war movie. It is much more dense. We went to all new locations,” said Villeneuve last week at CinemaCon, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I didn’t want a feeling of repetition. It’s all new sets. Everything is new.”

Per The Reporter, the cast of “Dune: Part Two” includes Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica Atreides), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban Harkonnen), Charlotte Rampling (Reverend Mother Mohiam) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (Thufir Hawat). New cast members are Christopher Walken as the Emperor, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli, among others.
Villeneuve directed “Dune” from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth based on the novel of the same name written by Frank Herbert.
The first “Dune” was simultaneously released in theaters and on HBO Max, and earned $400 million at the box office.
“Dune: Part Two” has a release date of Nov. 3.
