*Doja Cat dressed up as Choupette, the cat of late designer Karl Lagerfeld, for the 2023 Met Gala in New York City Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The theme this year is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and the accompanying exhibition opens at the Met on May 5.
“The show spotlights Lagerfeld’s unique working methodology, focusing on the late designer’s stylistic vocabulary as it was expressed in ‘through lines’—aesthetic and conceptual themes that appear time and again—in his fashions from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019,” the museum’s description reads, Complex reports.
Doja donned a feline face prosthetic as part of her cat-inspired outfit for the Met Gala. She also meowed during an interview with Vogue’s Emma Chamberlain. Watch the clip below.

Choupette’s agent, Lucas Berullier from My Pet Agency, said the cat’s favorite look of the night was Kim Kardashian’s because they had a “strong connection” when she visited Lagerfeld’s office last week in Paris.
“I think he would’ve been proud and very emotional to see that the world could be touched by an animal, the same way that he was touched by an animal,” Berullier said of Lagerfeld.
