*For 30 years the BHERC has sponsored Sistas Are Doin’ It For Themselves Short Film Showcase, dedicated to highlighting emerging Black Women Directors. Here’s a special message from BHERC Executive Director John M. Forbes:
“Industry-wide and community support is asked for this very important BHERC program that celebrates Black Women Directors and supports our scholarships and other educational programs.”
This year witness emerging Black Women Directors along with established directors from across the country.
Attendees will be able to see great short films along with hearing about Careers In Hollywood, Directors on Directing, and more.
Opening Night, May 19th, will be a special evening, with this year’s filmmakers and includes a short film showcase.

Please join this BHERC three-day celebration, May 19-21, at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles. Help spread the word! BHERC would like to get a minimum of 200 students out to attend. For those unable to attend, please purchase a student pass, a full weekend pass, or make a donation.
