*The all-new Paramount+ series “Fatal Attraction” re-imagines the 1980s blockbuster thriller through the lens of privilege, personality disorders, family dynamics, and murder.
In the present day, after serving 15 years in prison for the murder of Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan), Daniel Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) is paroled with the goals of reconnecting with his family and proving his innocence.
In 2008, Dan first met Alex, and his world begins to unravel after their brief affair threatens to destroy the life he’s built with his wife, Beth (Amanda Peet).
Peet and Alyssa Jirrels, who portrays Ellen Gallagher, the daughter of Dan (Jackson) and Beth (Peet), spoke with EUR about the journey that takes these characters through infidelity, divorce, and jail time.

Jirrles said that portraying Ellen was an amazing journey but a difficult one. She explained, “It was hard. I think it’s she’s an intense role. She’s a lot she’s holding and not necessarily releasing. And so that was challenging. On the other hand, this writing is so incredible. And I was interested in who she was as a character; I felt she was very new and different from what I’d read. But something that I still very much relate to. There are many layers, and I always explored and found new things with the character. And that’s what you want as an actor.”
Peet recalled seeing the original film in 1987 in New York and how her view of it has changed since its debut.
“I remember seeing it in 1987 at the movie theater on 19th and Broadway. And I remember not having the perspective that I have now about it. I just went along on the ride, and it was incredibly sexy, thrilling, and scary. And I remember feeling very sorry for Dan and his family. So I feel like, as soon as Alexandra (the showrunner and executive producer) called me and told me she was doing this, I knew that it was going to dig into his accountability more and also the story of this poor woman who was probably mentally ill, or is mentally ill, and, or has mental health issues. So she was going to dig into all of that,” she shared.
“Fatal Attraction” will be available on April 28 on Paramount+ with a three-episode debut, followed by weekly episodes every Sunday.
