*Cable news network NewsNation is reportedly considering bringing Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson on board now that both anchors are unemployed.
On Monday, it was announced that Fox canned Carlson from his primetime anchor spot. That same day, Lemon took to Twitter to announce his termination from CNN.
CNN initially tweeted that Lemon and the network “parted ways,” and wrote: “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”
After many assumed Lemon’s exit was an amicable decision, he took to Twitter Monday morning to express shock that he was fired by the network.
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned,” Lemon wrote. “After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.”

CNN was quick to respond to Lemon’s statement.
“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” CNN Communications tweeted on Monday (April 24). “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
Meanwhile, NewsNation is to be looking to be eying both Lemon and Carlson, TMZ reports. An insider claims NewsNation executives are turning a blind eye to any baggage that may come with the high-profile TV news stars.
Most recently it was announced that NewsNation expanded to a 24-hour schedule from Monday through Friday, which began April 24.
“I couldn’t be more proud of what we have accomplished in just a little over two and half years,” President of Nexstar Networks Sean Compton said. “NewsNation’s growth has been fueled by exceptional talent with stellar reputations for high-quality journalism, and by viewers hungry for unbiased news reporting. Becoming a 24-hour news network Monday through Friday positions us well to keep growing our audience by providing them with consistently meaningful news coverage.”
In related news, Lemon and Carlson have reportedly hired the same powerhouse lawyer to handle their exits from CNN and Fox News, attorney Bryan Freedman.
