*Mexico kidnapping survivor Latavia Washington McGee was arrested Saturday in connection to a February incident involving her minor daughter.

According to ABC 15 News, an arrest warrant was issued for the 34-year-old woman on February 17, after her daughter went to an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Spivey Street to fight another female juvenile.

It is unclear what role McGee played but allegedly she encouraged her daughter to engage in two different fights at the same apartment complex. McGee is said to have driven the child to the scene of the brawl. She also removed a pistol from her purse and waved it around, according to reports.

The incident happened weeks before McGee’s trip to Mexico. She’s been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to ABC 15 News, on April 16, she was released on her own recognizance.

McGee’s attorney Mark Cummings believes this charge will be dismissed.

“We believe that the police department was doing its job. We are grateful for the hard work the police department does, but we do look forward to the charge being dismissed,” he said.

McGee and several of her family members were victims of a headline-making kidnapping in Matamoros, Mexico in March.

She traveled to the country with Eric Williams, Zindell Brown, and Shaeed Woodard, for cosmetic surgery. The group encountered cartel members when they made a wrong turn while looking for a medical clinic. Cartel members shot at their vehicle and Brown and Woodard were killed in the incident. Washington-McGee and Williams survived and shared their harrowing tale with Anderson Cooper. Watch the interview below.
