*When Fashion Nova goes wrong.
A middle school math teacher took to TikTok recently to recount her Janet Jackson moment during class. Shayla, who uses the TikTok handle @shesgorgeous_btw, said she wore her sweater from online retailer Fashion Nova to school for the first time, and the garment ripped open as she stood before her students.
“Do you recall your teacher’s wardrobe malfunctions? I hope not! Yikes,” she captioned the video, which she posted at the end of January.

Shayla continued in the video: “So I’m having a great day getting scholars ready for the new quarter and everything’s going great, right? Wrong… I lift my hand up and this is what happens.”
Wearing the purple sweater in question, she reveals that the entire right seam has split open from the shoulder to the waist, exposing her bra and stomach.
“Fashion Nova sweater, first time wearing it, completely busts open right in the middle of my math lesson,” she said.
Shayla compared the incident to Janet Jackson’s infamous 2004 “wardrobe malfunction” during her Super Bowl halftime performance, where Justin Timberlake snatched off part of her costume as part of the choreography and exposed her right breast.
