A24 has announced an upcoming film, described as an “epic pop melodrama” starring Michaela Coel and Anne Hathaway. Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX are composing original music for the film, which will see Hathway sing.
The film is written and directed by David Lowery and follows a “fictional musician (Hathaway) and her relationship with an iconic fashion designer (Coel).”

Lowery, Toby Halbrooks, and James M. Johnston are producing alongside Jeanie Igoe of Homebird Productions and Jonas Katzenstein, Maximilian Leo and Jonathan Saubach of augenschein Filmproduktion.
Daniel Hart is doing the score. This is the third collaboration between A24 and David Lowery following The Green Knight and A Ghost Story.
The film will be shot in Germany, funded by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the DFFF.
A24 is handling the global release.
