*Charles Barkley, the former NBA superstar and current NBA analyst, recently weighed in on the “why White players have only won the MVP award about five times in the last 30 years if white voters vote for their own conversation.”
Winning the award is an honor and every NBA player’s dream. Unfortunately, only one superstar player can win the award every season.
Barkley, who won the award in 1992-93 was recently featured on ‘Altitude Sports Radio’ where he refuted Kendrick Perkins’ ridiculous argument about white MVP voters only voting for white players to win the MVP award. Additionally, Perkins was also blasted for his comment by JJ Reddick, a former NBA player who is white.
He said, “Hey man, I’m trying to work on my golf game, and you’re already trying to make me talk about stupid stuff. Come on, man.” And added, “That’s asinine, silly, and stupid. Listen, Joker has won 2 MVPs; well deserved. Him, Giannis, and Embiid are battling for the 3rd one this year. But the notion that people are voting, I mean, you can probably count on one hand the white guys that won MVPs. Does he even know how many white voters are out there? Or did he just pull it out of his a**?

Barkley further blasted Perkins and pinpointed that it would have been impossible for White players to only win the MVP award five times only in the past 30 years if that was the case.
Barkley added, “And let me tell you something, I’m glad JJ challenged Perkins, ’cause when I heard this for the first time last week, I said this has to be one of the most stupid things I’ve ever heard.”
