*Fox Nation has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming docuseries about Jussie Smollett’s hate crime hoax.
The five-part documentary series “Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax” will feature interviews with Nigerian brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, who claim they helped Smollett stage a homophobic and racist hate crime against himself in Chicago in 2019.
“We were the ones that did it. Yeah, it was us,” the Osundairo brothers say in the trailer.
“He told us to make sure we had the red hat, for Trump,” they say.

Brand strategist and Fox Soul host Al Reynolds also notes in the trailer that Smollett “was looking for that Civil Rights martyrdom” at the time he staged the hate crime.
You will recall that Smollett said he was attacked by two MAGA-loving Trump supporters who doused him with bleach and tied a noose around his neck. An investigation concluded that the actor lied about the incident and staged the assault on himself with the help of the Osundairo brothers.
Smollett was ultimately charged with 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct for making a false report. The charges were later dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. After a special prosecutor was brought in, Smollett was re-charged. In December 2021, a jury found him guilty on five of six counts of felony disorderly conduct. He served only 150 days in jail before being released.
Smollett’s legal team is now appealing his conviction as the “Empire” actor continues to maintain his innocence.
“Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax” premieres March 13 on Fox Nation.
“Anatomy of a Hoax takes a deep dive into a scam that reverberated through the worlds of entertainment, pop culture and politics,” said Fox Nation EVP John Finley. “We’re excited for viewers to hear the real stories behind this scandal from the Osundairo brothers for the very first time.”
