‘Cocaine Bear’: Elizabeth Banks, O’Shea Jackson Jr. And Alden Ehrenreich On The Film’s True Story, That Wild Bathroom Scene And More – Shadow and Act

Some true stories are stranger than fiction, and while we don’t know what actually happened when a bear got a hold of cocaine, the film ‘Cocaine Bear’ takes a stab at it.

The Universal film, directed by Elizabeth Banks, is inspired by the 1985 true story of “a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it.”

The film stars Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Kristofer Hivju, Hannah Hoekstra, and Aaron Holliday, with Margo Martindale and the late Ray Liotta.

Shadow and Act spoke with Banks, Jackson and Ehrenreich about the film, the true story that it pulls from, mixing multiple genres, Jackson’s work in that wild bathroom scene– and much more.
