*Lil Wayne has reacted to Billboard’s 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list, which has JAY-Z at #1
Weezy said in a recent interview on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music podcast that he’s #1, and even thinks the rappers that are ranked higher than him on the list would agree.
Wayne appeared on the podcast to discuss his new song “Kant Nobody” featuring the late rapper DMX. The conversation then turned to Weezy’s No. 7 placement on Billboard’s G.O.A.T list behind JAY-Z (#1), Kendrick Lamar (#2), Nas (#3), 2Pac (#4), Eminem (#5), and The Notorious B.I.G. (#6).
“Man, who the hell is before me? Was the list including all Hip Hop, like before and after as well? I can deal with that,” said Wayne. “I will tell you that I am a m############ one. Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m number one. Go ask them. They know what it is.”

“This is creativity. No one gets behind a mic, approaches a song, and says, ‘I’m making a song so it can be better than this one.’ If we all approached it that way, yeah it’d be a competition,” stated Lil Wayne. “This is creativity. Any individual who creates, this is their individuality. They’re putting their growth and creativity out there for you to enjoy. But we also know this is what the world does, so we have no problem with it.”
According to TMZ, fans on Twitter seem to agree that Wayne is a better lyricist than Jigga.
One Twitter user wrote, “Lil Wayne is the Goat, idc what y’all say bout Tupac, Big, and Jay Z ..ain’t nobody hold shit down like Weezy. Ain’t nobody been on top like him, only other person that could go against him is Eminem or maybe Drake…and that’s stretching it.”
Another person added, “jay z’s music is not mid, the bulk of you n*ggas is just emotional reactionary feminine drug users and alcoholics who f*ck anything moving so niggas like Pac DMX Lil Wayne Future is more of your speed while analytical minds like Jay Z don’t appeal to you.”
