*In season 2 of the hit Peacock drama “Bel-Air,” Will won’t be the only character dealing with personal obstacles.

We caught up with series stars Coco Jones (Hillary Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), and Cassandra Freeman (Aunt Viv) to discuss the career, love, and family journeys of their characters in season 2 of “Bel-Air.” Jones said one thing fans can surely expect is more bonding between Hillary and Jazz (Jordan L. Jones).

“Fans will see our relationship evolve. In season one, fans wanted us to be a thing. And we definitely dive into being in love and what that looks like for Hillary coming to terms with that vulnerability. But this is a drama. So, I will say, things will take their turns,” she shared.

Jones also teased that there will be a lot of challenges, especially when it comes to friendships; for example, with her relationship with Ivy (Karruche Tran). She explained, “They have this power struggle where they both want to be the head honcho in the influencer house. But Hillary is very determined, and I think where she lacks knowledge, she’s always going to learn and try to correct and readjust, and that’s what makes a great boss.”

For Freeman’s Vivian Banks’s character, the actress says fans will see what happens when people don’t come to the aid of a seemingly strong Black woman.

“Black women are more than just the archetype of being strong. We’re also vulnerable. And we can also be unsure, weak, and fragile. I think you get to see moments of that in this woman. And I think you start to realize that maybe the strongest thing any Black woman can do is ask for help,” Freeman said. “You see what happens when people don’t come to her aid. But you get to see what happens when her daughter actually comes to aid her at one point. I think that’s what I love exploring about Vivian. Otherwise, she’s like a stock character, walking around invincible. And we know it’s not like that in real life.”

“Bel-Air” stars Jabari Banks stars as Will, Jimmy Akingbola portrays Geoffrey Thompson, Olly Sholotan plays Carlton Banks, Jordan L. Jones plays Jazz and Adrian Holmes is Uncle Phil.

New episodes of “Bel-Air” begin streaming on Peacock on Feb. 23.
