*Howard Stern has ripped Rihanna for lip-synching her way through Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII halftime show.
“You know, I don’t even know why she bothered showing up,” the shock jock said during Monday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show” on Sirius XM, New York Post reports. “I could be wrong, but I — in my opinion, 85 percent of that performance was lip sync.”
When Stern’s longtime co-host Robin Quivers said it’s unclear whether or not the pop star was faking it, Stern said: “Well, the big giveaway might be when she puts the microphone down by her knees and her lips aren’t moving and the other voices are going,” Stern replied.
Meanwhile, more people watched Rihanna’s halftime show than they did the actual game, according to reports.

Fox Sports’ public relations account revealed in a Tweet on Monday that the Super Bowl averaged 113 million viewers across all platforms. Rihanna’s halftime performance averaged 118.7 million viewers and was the second-most-watched halftime show behind Katy Perry’s performance in 2015.
The Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 12 marked Rihanna’s first solo appearance in seven years. The global superstar served up a melody of her hits that has led to a major boost in the streaming of her music, Variety reports.
Among the tracks, Rihanna performed during halftime were “B___h Better Have My Money,” “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” and “Diamonds.” Per Discover Music, via Yahoo, streams of “B___h Better Have My Money” increased by more than 2,600 percent following the Big Game, while “Diamonds” streams are up by more than 1,400 percent, and “Rude Boy” and “We Found Love” have increased in plays by 1,170 percent and 1,160, respectively.
The entertainer was visibly pregnant with her second child during her halftime performance and her representative later confirmed that RiRi and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky are having another baby. Last May, the couple welcomed her first child together, a boy.
Stern referenced Rihanna’s pregnancy during his rant about her performance.
“I had a theory, Rihanna was not lip-syncing, but she put the microphone near her vagina so the new baby could sing,” Stern said. “The baby was singing backup.”
