*“Swarm,” a new series about mega fame and the dark side of fandom that comes with it, will soon get to your screens. The television project by Donald Glover will heavily borrow from the intense culture of Beyoncé’s BeyHive, which is considered by many to be the world’s biggest celebrity fan group.
“Swarm ” is Glover’s latest project and it follows the life of Dre (Dominique Fishback), a young Black woman in her 20s.
She is obsessed with a pop star, and the obsession eventually “takes her to weird and dark places.”
Dre’s sister Marissa will be played by singer Chlöe Bailey, a signee on Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment label. Damson Idris will play Dre’s charismatic love interest.
Janine Nabers, the series showrunner and executive producer, said she and Glover were “really interested in creating an antihero story,” but “through the lens of a Black, modern-day woman.”

Former First Daughter Malia Obama was also part of the writer’s team that helped Glover and Nabers to develop Dre’s character.
“Dre and Marissa are in their 20s and Malia is in her 20s, so it was really great having someone like her in the room,” Nabers stated. “She’s a very professional person. She’s an incredible writer and artist. We really wanted to give her the opportunity to get her feet wet in TV and see if this is something she wants to continue doing.”
Swarm will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on March 10.
Meanwhile, the internet world is going crazy over Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour.” The tickets sell like hotcakes. Beyonce’s website revealed the North American and European tour dates on February 1.
