Beyoncé has made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards by winning her 32nd award, breaking the record for the most Grammy wins of all time!
Having won four awards so far in the 2023 ceremony, the win that pushed her past the record was for her chart-topping album, Renaissance, which won Best Dance/Electronic album. Not only did the win make her a living legend, it also made her the first Black woman to win in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category. Woot!
During her emotional acceptance speech, she thanked God, her family, her late Uncle Johnny, and the queer community for their love and support.
“I’m trying not to be too emotional, and I’m trying to just receive this night,” she said while fighting back tears. “I want to thank God for protecting me. … I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit.” Aww. She thanked her parents, husband, and three children, Blue Ivy, Sir, and Rumi, before concluding, “I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”
The “Cuff It” singer received her first dance/electronic category nominations this year.

Mrs. Carter also won a Grammy for traditional R&B performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa” and dance-electric album for Renaissance, which is also nominated for album of the year.
The Grammy Goat’s record-tying award came so early in the ceremony that she had yet to arrive. Instead, the GRAMMY for Best R&B Song was accepted on her behalf, with the legendary Nile Rodgers sharing his story of “CUFF IT” and thanking her.
The multi-hyphenate entertainer posted a thank-you message on Instagram following her record-tying victory during the telecast.
“We won 3 y’all!,” she wrote. “To my Hive, thank y’all so much for all of your love and loyalty! Big thank you for the BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT wins!!! To The Dream, Tricky, HOV, and Big Freedia. I love y’all!

“It feels great to be honored for the vocal performance. Thank you to all the talented vocalists who killed those beautiful TikTok renditions!
“I feel very grateful and filled with joy!,” she concluded.
The “Break My Soul” singer led the 2023 nominations with nine, tying her with her husband, Jay-Z, for the most all-time Grammy nominations (88). Goals.
Beyoncé’s total includes her work as a member of Destiny’s Child prior to her solo career. She had won 28 Grammys prior to Sunday’s ceremony, making her the most awarded female artist in Grammy history in 2021.

Lizzo won Record of the Rear for About Damn Time, delivering a stirring speech that brought many in the audience to their feet, including Beyoncé and Adele. The win marked her fourth Grammy Award. During her speech, Lizzo made sure to give Bey her flowers in a heartfelt way. Major congrats to her!
