Chloe Bailey, Tosin Cole, Olivia Colman And Woody Harrelson To Star In Bob Dylan Jukebox Musical ‘Girl From The North Country’ – Shadow and Act

Chloe Bailey, Tosin Cole, Oliva Colman and Woody Harrelson have been lined up to star in jukebox musical film, Girl from the North Country. According to IndieWire, the film concocts a stage musical by Conor McPherson based on classic songs from Bob Dylan.

The musical is set in 1934 during the Great Depression in Duluth, MN. The central spot for the musical, a guesthouse, allows several different travelers’ lives to intertwine with each other. Bailey plays Marianne, the adopted daughter of the house’s owner Nick Lane (Harrelson) and his wife Elizabeth (Colman), who is also coping with dementia. Cole plays Joe Scott, an escaped convict who falls in love with Marianne.

McPherson will write and direct the film version of the musical, which includes songs like “Hurricane,” “All Along the Watchtower,” “Forever Young,” “Make You Feel My Love,” “Slow Train Coming,” and “Like a Rolling Stone.”

“Having Bob Dylan’s trust to create a story using his incomparable songs is a huge privilege which has brought nothing but joy to my world,” said McPherson in a statement. “But working with this incredible cast to bring these characters to life is almost beyond imagining.”

“I’m also especially thrilled to be working with [film producers] Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and the whole Blueprint team who have given cinema audiences some of the greatest movies of recent times,” McPherson continued.

Bailey can be seen next in the upcoming Prime Video series Swarm, created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. She is also set to star as Wall Street trader Lauren Simmons in the upcoming film Midas Touch, with Numa Perrier set to direct. She has recently been seen in psychological thriller Jane with co-star Madelaine Petsch.
