The first trailer has been released for A Snowy Day in Oakland, which stars Nicole Ari Parker, Deon Cole, Kimberly Elise, Evan Ross, Loretta Devine and more.
Directed by Kim Bass, A Snowy Day In Oakland stars Parker as Latrice Monroe, a therapist who decides to end a romance with her longtime boyfriend and business partner.
After the disintegration of her relationship, Latrice moves into a predominately Black and neglected neighborhood and navigates her practice and her relationships. Along the way, she comes across the town’s biggest personalities such as Davis (Cole) Jeanette (Devine), and Theona (Elise).
“Her private practice is located in a vacant, street-front office space in the middle of a small, commercial block located across the bay in Oakland,” the synopsis reads.
Some of the pertinent themes that will be discussed in the film include navigating relationships and family, entrepreneurship, and the importance of mental health within the Black community.
Aside from Parker, A Snowy Day In Oakland also stars Deon Cole, Kimberly Elise, Loretta Devine, Michael Jai White, Keith David and Evan Ross.
A Snowy Day In Oakland hails from Labid Aziz’s People of Culture Studios, which has a joint venture with management and production company Atomik Content to co-manage talent and develop, produce and distribute feature films.
