*It took less than 21 days for the Memphis cops who were caught on video gang-beating Tyre Nichols to be investigated, charged, and indicted for his assault, kidnapping, and murder.
More charges could be on the way for Shelby County sheriff’s deputies who were at the scene and did nothing to stop the excessive force they witnessed.
Paramedics also could be on the hook for charges or termination for failing to render aid immediately.
If law enforcement officers have a duty to stop other cops from using unjustified deadly force, why did just five cops get indicted when there were at least 8 at the scene, including a White cop who tased Nichols? What did LEOs tell his family about his arrest, and what led these five Black cops to treat another Black man like that?
