Tyler Perry Describes Phone Call from Out of Nowhere from Oprah | WATCH

*Tyler Perry tells CNN’s Chris Wallace that his nearly 20-year friendship with Oprah Winfrey started with an unexpected phone call.

Well, obviously everything is peachy-keen between Oprah and Tyler these days. However, back in 2016, there were reports/rumors that the moguls’ relationship has become strained because he couldn’t handle her constructive criticism.

With a screenshot of the article on Instagram, Oprah’s best bud, Gayle King said, “Huh? Just reading @Oprah & @tylerperry are angry w/each other & not speaking if that’s true (it ”ain’t”) must have just happened 10 min ago!”

The alleged fight dated back to Oprah reportedly hiring a focus group to give feedback on Tyler’s show, “The Haves & The Have Nots.” The suggestion was to hire more writers to make the storylines stronger.

Supposedly, that didn’t sit well with Tyler who reportedly said, “Aren’t the shows delivering ratings for the network? Well, then let me do what I do and you can keep your focus group research to yourself.”

A source close to the mogul reported that Oprah responded with, “…You needed me as much as I needed you when we decided to do this partnership, and don’t forget that.”
