BREAKING: Tory Lanez Is Found GUILTY On All 3 Charges In Megan Thee Stallion’s Shooting Case

The verdict is in! Tory Lanez has been found guilty of all three felony charges in the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Details inside…

Count your days, Tory Lanez.

A jury in Los Angeles found Tory Lanez guilty of three felonies in the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion on July 12, 2020, in the Hollywood Hills, which left her wounded with bullet fragments in her feet (that are still there).

The jury of seven women and five men deliberated for one day before convicting Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson), 30, of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

He faces up to 22 years in prison.

After the guilty verdict was read aloud, Tory fell deafeningly silent, unlike his parents, who were in the courtroom. According to Law & Crime reporter Meghann Cuniff, Tory’s father and stepmother caused a scene after the verdict was read.

It’s reported that Tory Lanez’s father stood up and screamed, “This is a wicked system!” after the guilty verdict was read. He screamed at the prosecutors that they are evil and they know exactly what they did here. Tory’s stepmother also stood up, screaming and yelling as his father yelled about “Roc Nation.”

In the courtroom, Tory was handcuffed after the verdict was read.

”Tory Lanez was remanded on the spot, led out in handcuffs by sheriff’s deputies. There were six total in the courtroom, two at door and four behind Lanez, and there was quite a scene when they tried to get Lanez’s father and stepmother under control,” Meghann tweeted from the courthouse.

”One woman in the gallery held up her hand as Tory’s father was screaming about Roc Nation and wicked injustice, repeating “‘n the name of Jesus!’ Deputies were forcing them all out into the hallway and telling the gallery we had to stay seated,” she continued.

”One woman turned and looked at the reporters sitting behind her, including me, and said, “Jay Z is a b*tch. Report that: Jay Z is a b*tch,” the reporter tweeted.

”The deputies were able to manage the scene (I heard Tory’s father screaming, ‘Don’t push me’ but never saw a huge fight) but it was very chaotic for several minutes and we could hear Tory’s father’s screams from the hallway.”

Sheesh.

Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete) testified during the trial that Tory fired a handgun at the back of her feet and shouted “dance b*tch” as she walked away from an SUV in the Hollywood Hills in the summer of 2020. According to testimony, Meg, Tory, and Meg’s former friend, Kelsey Harris, got into a heated argument after it was revealed Megan was having sex with Tory behind Kelsey’s back. During the argument, Meg insulted Tory and his music career, and that’s when ish hit the fan.

Tory, a Canadian native, was initially charged in October 2020 with one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm (personal use of a firearm) and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

Earlier this month, Tory was hit with an additional felony count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Meg’s lawyer released a statement after the verdict was read. “The jury got it right. I am thankful there is justice for Meg.”

Tory’s legal team tried to say Kelsey was the shooter, but the jury saw right through that.

District Attorney George Gacon spoke out after Tory was found guilty and he applauded Meg for her bravery. He said often times Black women don’t report crimes like assault and sexual violence in fear of not being believed.

“I want to start by highlighting the bravery of Megan Pete. You showed incredible courage and vulnerability with your testimony despite repeated and grotesque attacks that you did not deserve. You faced unjust and despicable scrutiny that no woman should ever face and you have been an inspiration to others across LA County and the nation.

“Women, especially Black women, are afraid to report crimes like assault and sexual violence because they are too often not believed. This trial, for the second time this month, highlighted the numerous ways that our society must do better for women.

“I’d also like to thank the jurors for their time and thoughtful deliberation, and our trial team for their tireless pursuit of the truth. You spent countless hours away from your families during the holiday season preparing this case and finding justice for Ms. Pete. Your sacrifice is appreciated.” -District Attorney George Gascón

We’re SO glad Tory was found guilty on all three charges and hopefully he’s sentenced appropriately and deported back to Canada.

By the way…

While the jury was deliberating the case, Megan’s boyguard, Justin Edison, mysteriously “surrendered,” according to his family. He was supposed to testify in the trial, but went “missing” before he was set to take the stand.

”He was found and a bench warrant was recalled,” said attorney Michael Zweiback, adding that Justin “came forward today because of what was happening to his family.”

Justin’s father, Harold Edison, spoke with “Good Morning America” and said: “My hope is that [Justin] comes forward so that he doesn’t assume the risks that we discussed before. I explained to him that this is not worth the risk … we must maintain our integrity.”

Interesting.
