Takeoff’s killer is still on the loose, according to Houston police. They’re asking the public to ‘step up’ and help provide information that can lead to an arrest.

“We are looking for any information at this time,” Sgt. Michael Arrington, the lead investigator on the case, said. “We know the media has received a lot of phone calls, text messages, tweets, vines, videos. We need all of y’all to send those to us so we can solve this case.”
He added, “We want to find justice for this family. They’re going through a lot right now … Help us to apprehend and get charges and arrest on the person responsible for the death of Takeoff.”
Police chief Troy Finner added that he believes the suspect(s) were guests at the private party that Takeoff attended at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston on Monday night.
“What if this was your brother? What if this was your son? Please step up,” he said in a message to the public.
Chief Finner said he spoke to Takeoff’s loved ones, who called him a “peaceful” individual.
Sgt. Arrington confirmed, however, that a disagreement was behind the fatal shooting. A reason for the argument was not given.
Previous reports stated that a fight had broken out following a game of dice.
Police confirmed Tuesday that at least two firearms were used and Takeoff was already pronounced dead when cops arrived on the scene.
Chief Finner took a moment to commend the hip-hop community, stating that it gets a “bad name” because of the many rappers who have been killed in recent years.
“I know a lot of great people in our hip-hop community and I respect them,” he said.
“I’m calling up on everybody, all hip hop artists, in Houston and around the nation. We’ve got to police ourselves. We all need to stand together and make sure that nobody tears down that industry.”
Sgt. Arrington also confirmed during the press conference that there were two other individuals who took themselves to local area hospitals on their own with “non-life-threatening injuries.” They were a 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old female.
“Both of them are going to be OK,” he added.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner also took a moment to speak and reassured the public, “We will solve this case. We will find the shooter or shooters.”
Prior to the press conference, footage of the aftermath of the shooting surfaced online via TMZ.
Fellow Migos member Quavo was seen in the video trying to tend to Takeoff, who appeared bloodied on the floor.
