Following news of the shooting death of rapper Takeoff, JSU’s head coach Deion Sanders delivered a powerful speech to his players ahead of their game in Houston. See his speech inside…
Jackson State University head coach Deion Sanders is doing the Lord’s work to ensure his football players succeed in life. And we need more of that these days.
Ahead of Saturday’s game in Houston, Coach Prime delivered a powerful speech to his football players in regards to rapper Takeoff being shot and killed. The Migos rapper was fatally gunned down during a dice game while attending a private party at a Houston bowling alley. JSU will be heading to Houston this week for a game on Saturday against Texas Southern.
Coach Prime told his players they will NOT be leaving the hotel when they get to Houston and gave them some very necessary advice.
”Sooner or later we have to start changing our addresses, guys. That’s an analogy to say I know we’re this, but we ain’t that. We have to leave that behind that we once did. And that’s what you guys are. Now you guys are Jackson State royalty,” he said. “You can’t continuously do the things you’ve always done and expect to get the results. There’s going to have to be a change.”

And THIS is why it’s important to have someone like Deion Sanders working with HBCU students. He can relate to his players like many coaches can’t! His words mean something to them and hopefully, it’ll have them living the best versions of themselves.
“Million Dollars Worth of Game” podcast host Gillie shared a social media video, condemning people who record someone who has been injured and immediately posts it online. Check out his message below:
