Kanye West Returns To IG After Being Escorted Out Of Skechers Headquarters + Ye Shuts Down DONDA Academy Then Reopens It

Kanye West made a return to Instagram, cracking jokes about being canceled and reacting to losing his billionaire status. His social media return comes on the heels of being escorted out of Skechers’ headquarters after he pulled up uninvited. Also, Ye abruptly closed his DONDA Academy for the remainder of the school year. The latest inside…

[UPDATE]:

Hours after it was reported Kanye West closed the doors of his private school DONDA Academy for the remainder of the school year, there are now reports stating that it’s back OPEN.

It’s been an eventful 24 hours for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, as companies continue to distance themselves from him.

Yesterday, the Grammy-winning rapper was escorted out of the Skechers headquarters in California after he pulled up unannounced. Ye popped up at the shoe retailer’s corporate offices in Los Angeles a day after Adidas ended its partnership with him following his controversial anti-Semitic remarks.

The shoe company released a statement addressing Ye’s unscheduled arrival:

”Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation. Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”

Companies are distancing themselves from the Chi-town native following anti-Semitic comments he previously made, including Adidas, VOGUE, Balenciaga, JPMorgan Chase, GAP, Creative Arts Agency, and Foot Locker. Most recently, Ye has been ditched by an English Premier League team. Premier League club Bournemouth have decided to stop using Kanye’s “Power” track as their walk-out music.

Also, Apple Music has reportedly pulled Ye’s “Essentials” playlist from its platform. Billboard reports that the streaming giant decided to yank the playlist after the rap veteran made offensive comments online and, again, in interviews.

When the “Bound 2” rapper first started ranting on social media, Instagram and Twitter locked him out of his accounts for posting messages that violated their policies. Well, he’s back now after scrubbing his account, and he’s still stirring the pot:

In one post, he shared a fake news headline that said, “Ye Has Reportedly Cut Ties With Kanye West.”

“Had to cut ties bro,” Kanye joked in the caption.

In another post, he called out Ari Emanual, the Hollywood talent agency exec who previously called on companies doing business with Ye to end their relationship with the self-proclaimed visionary, and addressed losing his billionaire status. Forbes reported Ye was no longer a billionaire after Adidas cut ties with him.

“I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive,” Ye wrote. “This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am.” He captioned the post, “Love Speech.”

During his social media rants and interviews, Ye alarmed folks when he vowed to “go death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.” DEFCON is an acronym that refers to the state of alert of America’s militaries. DEFCON 3 refers to a “increase in force readiness above normal readiness” and is used in situations that do not pose an immediate threat but warrant heightened alert. You’ll recall, Ye slammed the “Jewish media” for trying to silence him after he posted a screenshot of his text messages with Hip Hop mogul Diddy in which the rapper wrote, “This ain’t a game. Ima will use you as an example to demonstrate to the Jewish people who instructed you to call me that no one can threaten or influence me.”

According to Forbes, Ye is worth $400 million without Adidas.

In another post, Ye shared a screenshot that 50 Cent posted, cracking jokes on Ye.

“Curtis Jackson has reportedly cut ties with 50 Cent,” 50’s post said. In the caption, the “Power” producer wrote, “I’m getting rid of anybody who can get me f*cked up like Kanye right now! LOL”

Ye shared the post and wrote in the caption, “We got Donda school designs we need to build with 50 in Houston.”

After his social media return, it was announced Ye decided to shut down his DONDA Academy – effective immediately!

The school’s principal Jason Angell, who has “no apparent formal teaching experience,” sent an email to parents of students, stating that “at the discretion of our founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately.”

Hollywood Unlocked was the first to report the news where they shared parents are concerned about receiving refunds for tuition:

DONDA Academy has between 100 – 150 students and tuition is $15,000 a year. Now, parents have to scramble to enroll their children into a new school. The parents can’t say much about the school’s closure since they allegedly had to sign NDAs in order for their children to attend the unaccredited Christian private school.
