Andy Cohen says Bravo is moving ahead with the “Real Housewives of New York City” reboot faster than the “Legacy” project because Bravo wants to tell “new stories.”

“I hope that [fans are] happy with both. That’s all I can say. The truth of the matter is we have not spoken to any of our classic ‘RHONY’ women about ‘Legacy’ yet,” Cohen exclusively told Page Six at BravoCon 2022 on Friday.
“We really were waiting to get the ‘RHONY’ reboot right, and we really wanted to tell new stories, and we wanted to capture the energy in New York City, and I’m really happy with where we’re at.”
The King of Bravo said that the new series will move beyond the Upper East Side because they want the show to be “representative of the city.”
“It’s all over the city, and it’s aspirational,” Cohen shared. “I think it’s legit. We’re definitely expanding beyond the the Upper East Side with these women.”
Cohen, 54, also teased that there will be a “big” announcement regarding “RHONY” at the network’s convention this weekend.
Producer Lisa Shannon confirmed during a panel Friday that the reboot officially has been cast and said the future of “RHONY” is “bright.”
“There is a new cast, the rumors are true. … They’re pretty sensational,” she said. “I am so excited about them. I met them all yesterday. They are spectacular.”
Cohen and Bravo first announced in March that they’d be rebooting “RHONY” and launching “Legacy” with past stars.
“You know that we’re at a crossroads for ‘RHONY,’” he said at the time, referring to controversial storylines involving Ramona Singer, Leah McSweeney and more.
“We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out where to go. And the plan that we’ve come up with, I think, is a real gift to the fans.”
Page Six exclusively learned that Cheddar anchor Hena Doba was once in the running for a spot on the reboot, but we later heard she wasn’t interested in appearing on reality TV.
We’re interested in seeing how it all pans out.
