MTV announced the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nominees on Tuesday. Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar are tied with seven nominations.

Lil Nas X is up for Artist of the Year, while his remaining six nods stem from his music video for “INDUSTRY BABY,” featuring Jack Harlow. They are Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Choreography. Harlow also has received seven nominations, including Artist of the Year.

Three of Lamar’s nominations come from his collaboration with his cousin, rapper/producer Baby Keem. Their “family ties” video was nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Direction and Best Editing. These are Keem’s first career VMA nominations, along with a nod for Best New Artist.

In addition, Doja Cat received six nominations, The Weeknd and Drake snagged five nods, while Cardi B, Lizzo and Future all garnered four.

The 2022 MTV VMAs will air live on Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. EST from New Jersey’s Prudential Center. Additionally, the awards will be simulcasted on BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, CW Network, LOGO, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1.
