Keke Palmer – The Gag Is She’s An ‘Incomparable Talent’ & Isn’t Here For The Colorism Comparisons To Zendaya

Folks are calling Keke Palmer’s NOPE performance her “breakout role” even though her resume was already STACKED before the role. A Twitter user tweeted Keke’s career isn’t as mainstream as Zendaya’s due to colorism, but Keke said AHT! AHT! Find out how the Hollywood actress responded to the colorism talk inside…

Keke Palmer wants you to know she’s THAT girl and incomparable to none!

Over the weekend, a Twitter user compared Keke and Zendaya’s careers as an example of “how colorism plays out in Hollywood,” suggesting Zendaya’s career is more successful because she has lighter skin. Both entertainers started out as kid stars with careers that include EMMY wins, headlining roles and music.

”I’d like someone to do a deep-drive on the similarities and differences between Keke Palmer and Zendaya’s careers,” the user tweeted. “This may be one of the clearest examples of how colorism plays out in Hollywood. They were both child-stars, but their mainstream popularity is very different.”

The Twitter user continued, “They are 2 incredibly talented Virgo Queens who each have an Emmy, but in different categories. Keke Palmer has done sooo much throughout her career, yet ppl are saying #NopeMovie is her breakout role. #Euphoria is what is consider.”

Folks immediately began to respond to the comparison, with some people agreeing and others on the opposition.

The social media user went on to explain why she chose to compare Zendaya to Keke and shared what made her tweet what she said in the first place:

Another user responded, “Keke’s net worth is $7 million and Zendaya’s is $20 million. Keke has been a mainstream success since her career began and has put in substantially more work. She should be one of the HIGHEST paid entertainers in the game. So yes it’s colorism. twitter.com/nbagladiator/s…”

In response, the original tweeter wrote, “This is why I need someone to do this deep-dive. If these numbers are accurate, then something really has to be done. Keke’s resume is too long and decorated for there to be a gap like this.

Well, the Brotherly Love actress has silenced all of that noise. And she made it clear she can’t be compared to ANYONE because her resume speaks for itself.

“A great example of colorism is to believe I can be compared to anyone,” Keke tweeted in response. “I’m the youngest talk show host ever. The first Black woman to star in her own show on Nickelodeon, and the youngest and first Black Cinderella on broadway. I’m an incomparable talent. Baby, THIS, is Keke Palmer.”

“I’ve been a leading lady since I was 11 years old. I have over 100+ credits, and currently starring in an original screenplay that’s the number one film at the box office #NOPE. I’ve had a blessed career thus far, I couldn’t ask for more but God continues to surprise me,” she concluded.

PERIODT.

We love that she defended her career and kept it respectful towards her girl Zendaya (who has always been vocal about colorism in this industry). There’s enough room for BOTH ladies to flourish and take over Hollywood. We’re celebrating on the sidelines for both of them. Thoughts?
