BET AWARDS 2022: Taraji P. Henson’s Opening Monologue – ‘Guns Have More Rights Than Women,’ ‘Tonight Is For Black Kings’

Host Taraji P. Henson was on her Queen ish tonight as she gave her monologue to open the 2022 BET Awards.  Watch it inside.

Taraji P. Henson walked out to “The Kings Affirmation” by INIKO, the viral TikTok song, before opening her monologue for the 2022 BET Awards!

She turned her attention to blasting the Supreme Court after their horrific decision of overturning Roe vs. Wade saying:

“It’s about damn time we talk about the fact that guns have more rights than a woman,”

“A weapon that can take lives has more power than a woman that can give life if she chooses to,” Henson said.

She said the night was dedicated to black kings, especially people like Diddy who is being honored tonight with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Just a reminder, back in May, she re-introduced herself as Dr. Taraji P. Henson after receiving an Honorary Doctorate degree from her former college, Howard University:
