An Arizona mother and two of her children were killed on Thursday in a multi-vehicle crash.
What We Know:
- The crash involved a robbery suspect in a stolen car. The incident claimed the life of mother Courtney Lonergan and her two eldest children, Almira and Ali Greer. A GoFundMe campaign has been created in their honor.
- The incident occurred around 3:47 p.m when a man stole a 2010 Cadillac SRX from a woman near Missouri Avenue. 33-year-old Raymond Montgomery fled the scene afterward according to the Phoenix Police Department. Montgomery ran a red light and crashed into Lonergan’s Honda Civic.
- The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to hit a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck. The truck was then pushed into a City of Phoenix bus, according to authorities. Montgomery continued driving and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street. Lastly, Montgomery collided with a Chevy Malibu that was waiting at an intersection.
- Lonergan was pronounced dead at a local hospital and her two children died at the scene of the crash. All of the other victims in the incident suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Montgomery has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of robbery, one count of theft of means of transportation, and seven counts of endangerment.
Records show that Montgomery is being held on a $2 million bond.
