Former President Donald Trump‘s blog “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” has seemed to disappear from the former president’s website just shy of one month after going live.
What We Know:
- Trump was indefinitely suspended from Facebook and Instagram and was permanently banned from Twitter days after his posts regarding the election being “rigged,” allegedly inciting the January 6th U.S. Capitol riot. Protestors breeched the Capitol, causing the building to go into lockdown and resulted in the death of five people, including one police officer.
- The blog was a place for Trump to share his thoughts after getting kicked off of the various social media platforms. However, the page failed to generate any traction or considerable following. According to CNBC, Trump’s senior aide Jason Miller stated the blog page “will not be returning” as “it was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on.” Miller declined to give any other information regarding Trump’s next move regarding social media, but did respond to the following tweet:
Yes, actually, it is. Stay tuned! https://t.co/USKGvVXe2f

- The former president has criticized social media for censoring conservative users and being politically biased. Trump has hinted at the possibility of starting his own social media outlet, and Miller confirmed back in May that the blog was not the possible new outlet.
- Trump is set to speak at the North Carolina Republican Party’s state convention on Saturday and other rallies throughout the summer, prompting people to wonder if he is seeking the presidency in 2024. According to NBC News, Miller responded to these inquires, stating, “if the president feels like he’s in a good position, I think there’s a good chance that he does it…President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party.”
Trump himself has not stated if he plans on running in 2024, but for now, supporters can find him fighting alongside Pro-Trump Republicans as they gear up for the 2022 midterm elections and primaries.
