A graduate student from Virginia State University was showing off his basketball skills when an unexpected opponent stole the show.
What We Know:
- According to Blavity, 24-Year-Old Afolabi Oyeneyin, a former Virginia State basketball player, was on-campus filming one-on-one basketball games with friends. Things were going great for Oyeneyin until university president Dr. Makola Abdullah showed up.
- With over 5 million views, the now-viral video shows Dr. Abdullah walking down a flight of stairs in a crisp suit. Oyeneyin challenges him to a game, and the president’s jacket comes off. Before you know it, Dr. Abdullah bounces the basketball off of Oyeneyin’s head before setting him up for an ankle-breaking cross-up. The crowd of spectators goes wild!
- Oyeneyin posted the video on Twitter last Tuesday, writing, “I was walking around Virginia State & the President of the school just embarrassed me. I’m not gonna lie,” he continued, “it took a lot for me to post this. He definitely got me tho.”

- In the end, Oyeneyin proved to be a good sport about the match, posing for a friendly photo with his opponent. “You already know it’s all love. I can’t wait until everybody is back on campus,” Abdullah captioned the picture of him and Oyeneyin on Twitter.
The two are scheduled to have a one-on-one rematch soon.
