President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are awaiting investigation results before making a decision on NY Governor sexual allegations.
What We Know:
- Several women are accusing new York Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual assault. Cuomo claims that he hasn’t committed any abuse against these women but apologizes if he made any of them feel uncomfortable. “I had no idea I was making anyone feel uncomfortable at the time,” said Cuomo. The governor can be seen making these comments in a video from a news conference in Albany, NY, on March 3.
- There is currently an investigation being carried out on the governor to see whether or not the allegations are true. New York Attorney General Letitia James is carrying out the investigation. So far, there has been no evidence that shows proof that Cuomo has committed assault against these women.
Today’s action by the New York state legislature will have no bearing on our independent investigation into these allegations against Governor Cuomo.

- In an interview, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said there is no tolerance for any sexual assault. Pelosi is confident in the investigation and believes that all those women’s claims should be taken seriously and respected. “I have confidence in the Attorney general of New York, she has called for an expeditious investigation, and again, with all respect in the world for what these women have come forth and said.” Pelosi is awaiting the results and urges the governor to decide if he is fit to govern new york after taking at the results himself.
- President Joe Biden is also making the decision to come to a consensus after the investigation is completed. “I think the investigation is underway and we should see where it brings us,” said Joe Biden. However, other politicians such as Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have called for Cuomo to Resign.
The investigation should cause some movement in what happens next in this case.
