Michelle Obama will be inducted on October 2 to the National Women’s Hall of Fame for 2021.

- Former US First Lady Michelle Obama will be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. Michelle Obama has emerged as “one of the most influential and iconic women of the 21st century,” The National Women’s Hall of Fame explained. She will be inducted along with eight other women including former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, soccer icon Mia Hamm, and NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson, who passed away last year.
- Michelle is being inducted into the US National Women’s Hall of Fame because of her time as FLOTUS (First Lady Of The United States). Obama created several programs to support children and veterans and push for girls’ education worldwide. Forbes magazine reported ten ways Michelle Obama promoted physical and mental health as a former first lady.
- The organization said it closely monitored the COVID-19 situation in New York state and will plan carefully to ensure that the Induction Weekend in-person portion is safe for all attendees. Ticket sales will not be open until April or May when there is a better understanding of safety protocols for in-person events. They will host live virtual streaming of the ceremony, which will be free to the public. The induction will start at 2:00 pm EST, and the Gala Celebration starts at 7:00 pm.
- The National Women’s Hall of Fame, in Seneca Falls, New York, says it is the United States oldest membership organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements of distinguished American women.
