Arrest Made in Case of Louisiana Teen Who Disappeared, Was Found Dead

A Louisiana family is finally given closure after the arrest was made linked to a missing teen.

What We Know:

  • On October 30th, 2020, Quawan Charles was reported missing by his family. No amber alert was issued by the local authorities, which prompted accusations of racial bias from Charles’s family. His body was found in a drainage ditch on November 3rd, and private investigators were hired as the family could no longer trust local law enforcement with the case.
  • Autopsy reports conclude that the cause of death was drowning, but further investigation insinuates that foul play was involved. Reports also revealed small amounts of alcohol and THC were present in Quawan’s blood at the time of death.
  • Janet Irvin was arrested on Tuesday and jailed on these charges: felony failure to report a missing person, contributing to juvenile delinquency.
  • Iberia Police Sheriff Tommy Romero has stated that “by no means is this case closed” and is wishful has that this arrest will “begin to help their family heal.”

Hopefully, Quawan Charles’ family can continue to receive the closure and respect they deserve after losing a young member of their family to suspicious circumstances. As of late, no evidence has been revealed to the public on Janet Irvin’s connection to Quawan Charles.
