Larry Rendell Brock has been identified and arrested for his connection to the Capitol riot in Washington, D.C.
What We Know:
- According to People Magazine, Larry Rendell Brock, 53, was photographed in the Capitol chambers holding zip-ties and handcuffs while in full combat gear. Photos of the incident were released, and he was taken into custody after his ex-wife, and a number of other people who knew him reported him to authorities.
- His ex-wife of 18 years told FBI Investigators, “I just know that when I saw this was happening, I was afraid he would be there. I think you already know he was there. It is such a good picture, and I recognize his patch.” Another person identified Brock by his tattoos, saying, “It looks like him and he has pilot wings on his chest in this picture,” the witness stated
“He was an A-lO pilot. Worked at L3 and he still has contacts that work with L3 that knew he was flying to Washington DC,” the witness added.
- According to NBC, he surrendered to FBI agents on Sunday after he agreed to meet them at the police department in Grapevine, Texas. The retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Colonel will be facing two federal charges of knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful entering and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct.
- Brock told The New Yorker that he was there to protest what he believed to be election fraud. He also stated that the zip-ties he was holding were not his. He had found them on the ground and did not intend to cause harm at the Capitol.
- “I wish I had not picked those up,” he told the reporter. “My thought process there was I would pick them up and give them to an officer when I see one. I didn’t do that because I had put them in my coat, and I honestly forgot about them.”
When asked why he flew to D.C., Brock stated, “The President asked for his supporters to be there to attend. I felt like it was important, because of how much I love this country, to actually be there.”
