Officials went to perform a wellness check at home in Arizona when they discovered two victims of a murder-suicide.
What We Know:
- On December 19th, Tuscon police responded to a 911 call requesting a wellness check on a home in Arizona. According to People Magazine, the caller had expressed concern after stating that Phillip Foye was not responding to text messages or phone calls.
- When the police arrived at the home, nobody answered the door. Officers later discovered the home was treated with a barricade and utilized their SWAT team to forcibly enter the home.
- After entering the home, they found 40-year-old Phillip Foye dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Unfortunately, his son, 10-year-old Sebastian Foye, was also found fatally shot in a separate room. This case is being investigated as a murder/suicide. Police believe that the father shot his son before turning the gun on himself.
- The incident comes tragically close to the holiday season. Sergeant Richard Gradillas of the Tucson police commented on the case, saying, “It is pretty traumatic especially around Christmas time. You have someone who hasn’t even started his life. It is tragic. The child was involved in youth sports and heavily involved in the community. It is just bad.”
Currently, there is no motive or explanation for what occurred. Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by this tragedy.
