A new comedy special being released on Amazon officially has a trailer. The movie will include the actresses Tiffany Haddish, Natasha Rothwell, and Ziwe.
What We Know:
- As 2020 comes to an end, Amazon Studios has released an official trailer for a comedy special titled ‘Yearly Departed.’ The special is a cast full of the world’s funniest female comedians giving a “eulogy” of the year. Yearly Departed is from Amazon Studios and Done + Dusted. Hosted by comedian Phoebe Robinson, the special is followed up by the likes of Tiffany Haddish, HBO Insecure’s Natasha Rothwell, Ziwe Fumudoh, Rachel Brosnahan, Patti Harrison, and many more.
- The special is described as a series of eulogies for the year that was 2020. According to the studio, the series will deliver everything from casual sex to beige Band-Aids and everything in between that we’ve lost in 2020.
- In the trailer, the hour-long special shows each woman speaking at a podium similar to a funeral setting in an attempt to make what has come of the year. Executive produced by Rachel Brosnahan, Paige Simpson, David Jammy, Katy Mullan, Samantha Ressler, Nathalie Love, and Bess Kalb also serving as the head writer. Linda Mendoza, Emmy nominee, is set to be the director.
- Phoebe Robinson posted on her Instagram to share her thoughts on the upcoming special. “After months and months of not shooting anything because of Covid, it’s really nice to return for an all-female cast, all-female writers’ room, and female-directed comedy special for @amazonprimevideo. So grateful to be a part of the cast of comedy queens as we all tell 2020 to eat our biscuits!
