Too Short and E-40 Set for Last Verzuz Battle of the Year

After an unexpected cancellation, two West Coast legends have stepped up to take over the last Verzuz of 2020.

What We Know:

  • Verzuz, created by Timbaland and Swizz Beats, is a virtual rap battle stemmed from the constraints of the global pandemic and streamed on Instagram Live and Apple Music. Earlier this week, R&B singers, Ashanti and Keyshia Cole, announced their highly anticipated Verzuz would be postponed after Ashanti had tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Ashanti and Cole were set to take the stage last Saturday, and have since moved their showdown to a later date in January. Since then, Verzuz has announced that West Coast rappers, Too Short and E-40, will be taking the last Verzuz spot of the year. The announcement came to fans via the Verzuz Instagram, calling the two icons, “LEGENDS OF THE BAY”.
  • Los Angeles rapper Too Short came into fame in the early ’90s after his major-label debut Born to Mack. He later released a number of albums, mixtapes, and collaborations. He also created the hit song “Blow the Whistle” back in 2006.
  • E-40 has also created a successful career after his first album release, In a Major Way in 1995. The Oakland native and underground artist would soon hit mainstream music with his song “Tell Me When to Go” in 2006. Since his rise to fame, E-40 has released 28 studio albums and multiple movie soundtracks.

The final Verzuz is set to go down on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 8 PM eastern time. Are you tuning in?
