Nearly 30 Michigan House Staffers Test Positive for Virus After Giuliani Visit

Days after Rudy Giuliani’s positive COVID diagnosis, almost thirty staffers test positive for the virus.

What We Know:

  • Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday. Almost thirty staffers and members of Michigan’s House of Representatives have received the virus this year. This comes a week after Giuliani testified maskless in the chamber.
  • According to NBC News, so far, twenty-one staffers and eight representatives have contracted the virus. Gideon D’Assandro, communications direction and press secretary for Michigan’s House speaker, has not elaborated whether the cases happened before or after Giuliani’s visit.
  • Linda Vail, a health officer for Ingham County in Lansing, believes that it is highly likely that Giuliani was contagious during his visit. She suggests those in attendance to quarantine.
  • Additionally, an investigation has been opened in the Michigan House of Representatives. The investigation follows up on an employee complaint and will look at “possible workplace violations.” Not much more information is known on the content of the complaint.

Before testing positive, Giuliani was traveling the country defending voter fraud in the presidential election. Often he appeared in public without a mask. Since testing positive, he was hospitalized but, according to his Twitter, has been released and feels “better than ever.”
