G Herbo and Crew Charged In $ 1.5 Million Federal Fraud Case

Chicago drill rapper G Herbo is accused of using stolen identifications to charge private jets, designer puppies, a Jamaican villa, and more in a federal fraud case in Massachusetts that revealed this week.

  • G Herbo, whose name is Herbert Randall Wright III, turned himself in to officials on fraud charges on Thursday, Dec. 3. He is accused of being implicated in a multi-year $1.5 million credit card fraud operation. The rapper’s rep mentioned to TMZ, “[Herbo] maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court.”
  • The rep noted that the 25-year-old rapper’s legal team has been in touch with Massachusetts authorities, where the charges were filed.

“Herbo has legal representation in Massachusetts via Prince Lobel, whose team has reached out to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Massachusetts to make arrangements for Herbo’s appearance. G Herbo will appear in Massachusetts whenever he is required either in person or via Zoom.”

  • The 14-count charges, filed in the U.S. District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts in September and revealed on Wednesday (Dec. 2), alleges that Herbo, his manager and promoter, Antonio “T-Glo” Strong.
  • The most significant charges carry up to 20 years in prison. The other defendants are Joseph “Joe Rodeo” Williams, Stephen Hayes Jr., Demario Sorrells, and Terrence Bender. They acquired stolen credit card information, including cardholders name addresses, account numbers, security codes, and expiration dates.
  • The information was reportedly acquired from the “dark web” and utilized for payments of luxury hotels, exotic car rentals, personal chef, private security, commercial flights and private jets, two designer puppies, vacations, and the list goes on.
  • The charges alleged Wright and his crew also illegally charged trips to Miami, Texas, New York, New Jersey, and California. They booked hotel rooms and paid for meals and other services using stolen identities.

Herbo has yet to comment on the matter publicly. Earlier this week, the Chicago born was named among Forbes’s annual 30 Under 30 list.
