Noah Cyrus called Candace Owens a “nappy a** heaux” on social media. She intended to defend singer Harry Styles against comments Owens made about Styles wearing a dress on the December issue of Vogue.
What We Know:
- Noah Cyrus came to the defense of fellow pop star, Harry Styles after he was called out for this latest Vogue photoshoot. On Nov. 14, Candance Owens responded to Vogue Magazine’s promotion of the latest issue, stating in so many words, “Bring back manly men”. While Styles did not immediately respond to the dig, he eventually mocked her and posted a photo of himself wearing a baby blue suit and eating a banana. Noah Cyrus then took it upon herself to respond to Owens, stating “He wears this dress better than any of u nappy ass heaux.”
- The tweet of Noah Cyrus has been screenshotted by millions, and she has been called out for glaring racism.
- According to USA Today, Owens accused Cyrus of referencing her in the post using the offensive term and challenged “woke liberals” to explain how Cyrus’ comment “is not racist”.
Any one of woke liberals care to explain to me how @noahcyrus calling me a “nappy ass hoe” is not racist?
I’m all ears.
You guys love cancel culture. @MileyCyrus come get your sister! https://t.co/N6Ej7UICPW— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) December 3, 2020

- Following the backlash from the internet, Noah took to Instagram to issue an apology in which she stated she was “unaware of the racism behind the use of her words”.
- “I am mortified that I used a term without knowing the context and history, but I know now and I am horrified and truly sorry. I will never use it again. thank you for educating me. I in no way meant to offend anyone. I am so so sorry,” Cyrus wrote.
Much of the internet is still unpleased with Cyrus’ behavior and continue to voice their concerns. Many of them do not believe or accept her apology.
