Diplo Hit With Restraining Order Request Following Revenge Porn Accusations

Diplo has been accused of “distributing revenge porn” and has a retaining order against him from an unidentified woman.

What We Know:

  • The woman is seeking protection from Diplo, who has denied revenge porn claims. Lisa Bloom, an attorney known for her participation as council for Harvey Weinstein, will be representing the unidentified woman.
  • Bloom is confident that the courts will find her client to be “credible” regarding the information of her involvement with Diplo. In a statement with E! News, Bloom said, “I am proud to represent my client, a woman who has made the choice to stand up for her rights.”

“After vetting her claims and speaking to three other women, we find her to be brave and credible. In all cases, witnesses are essential, and we encourage anyone with information regarding this case or this defendant to reach out to us,” she continued.

  • Diplo’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, responded to the restraining order request against his client, claiming the woman has “harassed” Diplo and his family for a year. Freedman continued, “To be clear, in no way has my client violated any law. In fact, he has repeatedly made it clear that he wants nothing whatsoever to do with this person – and simply needs her ongoing harassment of his family to end.”
  • Bloom stated that Diplo has explicit videos and pictures of her client that were allegedly released on Twitter after the women accused Diplo of filming their sexual encounter without her consent.
  • According to E! News, a temporary restraining order has been ordered against Diplo. Bloom reacted to the news in a statement, “We are pleased to announce that by an order dated November 16, 2020, the Court ordered our requests ‘all granted’ and the restraining order issued. In fact, the Court went even further, banning Diplo from distributing explicit images of our client without ‘express written permission’ from her or from the court, and that he ‘shall identify and remove any such images previously posted or distributed’.”

As part of the restraining order, Diplo is not allowed to contact or harass the unidentified women.
