A month after Rick Moranis was victim to an assault, police have arrested his attacker.
What We Know:
- Ghostbusters and Honey I Shrunk the Kids star Rick Moranis was victim to an unprovoked assault in October.
- Moranis was walking near his apartment one morning when he was punched in the head by an unidentified man. NYPD released a video showing the actor falling to the ground and the suspect walking away. Moranis took himself to the hospital but reported he was fine.
- They arrested 35-year-old Marquis Ventura Saturday for the attack. Police arrested Ventura for assault in the second degree, which according to the police means, he had “intent to cause serious physical injury to another person”.
- Authorities described Ventura as homeless, having a history of mental illness and multiple arrests of punching strangers in the face. Ventura had a 2019 assault conviction and has committed five assaults within six months.
- Recently, Moranis has been working his way back into the spotlight. Starting in 1997, Moranis took a break from the spotlight after becoming a widower.
Moranis seems to be in good condition and plans to return to live-action films. After a 23 year hiatus, Moranis will appear in the new sequel to Honey I Shrunk the Kids called Shrunk.
