With millions of new coronavirus cases across the United States, many are planning for the next nationwide shutdown. It’s unclear when this new wave will settle down, but when it does, Ticketmaster has a plan to get things back into full swing.
What We Know:
- Ticketmaster is an American ticket sales company that provides guests tickets to events like live concerts, sports games, and other in-person promotional events. Ticketmaster is currently working on a plan for venues to re-open safely amid the coronavirus pandemic.
- One strategy the ticket-selling company is looking into is requiring concertgoers to show proof of vaccination (when available) or a negative COVID test prior to attending an event. This would require each guest to send their COVID test results to a third-party health company to be verified. Then, their negative results would be linked through Ticketmaster’s mobile app to a digital ticket to enter the event.
- According to Billboard, Ticketmaster is looking into working with third-party health companies like CLEAR Health Pass or IBM’s Digital Health Pass and testing and vaccine distribution providers like Labcorp and the CVS Minute Clinic to provide real-time results for their events.
- According to Ticketmaster president, Mark Yovich, all test results would have to be twenty-four to seventy-two hours prior to attending the event. Ticketmaster would not receive any attendee’s medical information from the health company, just their approval to attend the event. Guests who fail to provide results will not be admitted into the event.
It’s important to note that this project is still in the developmental phase, with no confirmed approval from the FDA or third-party health companies. But as most of us are, Ticketmaster is eager to get back to work.
