Rapper Mo3 Shot and Killed in Texas

Gunned down on a Texas interstate, rapper Mo3 was shot and killed Wednesday before noon.

What We Know:

  • The 28-year-old musician, born Melvin Noble, was driving north on Interstate-35 in Dallas. Police say the suspect, driving a dark colored vehicle, exited his car with a gun in hand and approached Noble. The rapper then left his car and began to run south on the freeway. The gunman chased behind and opened fire hitting not only Noble in the back of his head but an innocent bystander as well. While both were taken to hospital, the bystander was the only survivor.
  • Mo3’s manager, Brandon Rainwater, told sources that Noble lost his life on his way to a film shoot. The manager was on the phone with him at the time of the tragic event.
  • Best known for his 2019 hit single “Errybody (Remix)”, over 800,000 Instagram users followed Mo3. He collaborated with famous Louisiana artist Boosie Badazz on the track. After news of his death the Boosie tweeted, “IM LOST FOR WORDS #tip MY BOY MO3 SEE U WHEN I GET THERE”.

  • With the loss of Chicago Rapper King Von only a few days before many fans mourned the death of the young musicians and fathers who both left behind beautiful children.
  • Noble’s manager expressed his sadness over the loss reminiscing on watching him grow from a regular homeless kid to a star. “To a person with power and enough revenue to support his family,” he said.
  • A statement shared to social media by Empire label read: “Empire of our family today…We share this horrible loss with Mo3’s family, team and fans. His infectious personality and unrivaled talent brought joy and therapy to his legions of followers across the country. We can only hope to continue his legacy and push forward with the same energy that Mo3 shared with the world. Long Live Mo3.”
