The new Bachelorette, Tayshia Adams, has officially broken her silence on replacing Clare Crawley. After her debut on last Thursday night’s episode, Adams appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to share details about her journey.
What We Know:
- After two weeks of filming, Crawley ended her time on the show leaving engaged to one of the contestants, Dale Moss. No one watching or participating in the show could deny the immediate connection the couple had. In Thursday’s episode, Crawley requested a one-on-one date with Moss canceling all activities planned before the rose ceremony. On the date, Crawley made it clear she only had eyes for Moss who reciprocated her feelings. The two exited saying farewell to the remaining 16 contestants.
- The remainder of men confused with the shocking events of night were met with news from host Chris Harrison that a new Bachelorette was already on the way. As many viewers speculated, Adams arrival was revealed at the end of the episode.
- The new Bachelorette told Kimmel that she got a vague call in the summer asking her to join the production. According to her, the phone call basically went “Hey you’re the girl”. She replied, “I got you”, and everything began to move very quickly from there. She was never informed about Crawley’s departure.
- Adams then disclosed the three things she had to do after the call: “Number one, I have to go run a mile because I just ate two donuts. Number two, I have to scream into a pillow because, what the hell just happened? And number three, I have to call my mom — and that’s exactly what I did!” She went to CVS, grabbed some essentials, and was in the Bachelorette bubble in Palm Springs within 48 hours.
- Adam also dished about the time she spent in secret quarantined for what she described as “too long” in her hotel room. Later she was moved into the former Bachelorette’s “El Presidente” suite and joked about saging the room seeing as that Crawley and Moss were intimate in there. “We got some good juju in there,” she laughed.
- Crawley and Adams never got the chance to speak. The new Bachelorette wished her predecessor could have thrown her a bone and warn her about a guy or two, but with everything moving so rapidly the two never crossed paths.
Adams posted her new Bachelorette poster with the words “the rumors end now” at the top on Instagram and captioned it “Blessed”. The Bachelorette airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8pm ET/PT.
