Ariana Grande is no stranger to being ‘positioned’ at the top of the charts. Her newest album Positions, released on October 30th, 2020, is putting Ariana on a road to making Billboard chart history, (again).
What We Know:
- According to Billboard, the album debuted at No.1 and is Ariana’s third No. 1 album in less than two and a half years. This is the fastest accumulation of No.1 albums ever by a woman. The album has also had the second-highest streaming debut for a non-R&B/hip-hop or Latin album in 2020 with over 173 million clicks within the first week.
- The album incorporates elements of funk, hip hop, R&B, and neo-soul to the theme of love, sex, and romance. The featured artists on the album are Ty Dolla Sign, Doja Cat, and The Weeknd.
- Ariana Grande’s other No.1’s include: “Thank U, Next” (2019), “My Everything” (2014), and “Sweetener” (2018).
- Ariana took to Twitter to express her gratitude tweeting, “hello / thank u. this is my favorite album yet and your response to the music has made my heart so incredibly full, I can’t even begin to fully express how much it means. so thank u. so very much.”
After a successful first week, Positions still has plenty of time to break even more records. We’re excited to see what highs Ariana will reach next.
